These items are what make a quality education. Kiplinger's Personal Finance Magazine's latest ranking effort is a listing of private colleges and universities with a good mix of price and academic quality. Working with a group of 100 competitive (as defined by Peterson's) schools, Kiplinger's considered not only each school's "sticker price" (tuition minus grants, scholarships, etc.) but also the likelihood of a student receiving assistance, and how much. The resulting list of schools is Kiplinger's judgment of schools which are worth the price of admission.
