Points to Ponder
  • Canadian education is considered amongst the best in the world.
  • Canada is considered one of the best places to live in the world.
  • Canadian education is a very good value.
  • The second largest country, with six time zones, don’t plan a road-trip without bringing lots of food.
  • Although officially bilingual (French and English), you may well hear Cantonese in Vancouver, or Italian in Toronto. Of course some universities will really let you build on your French language skills if you want.
  • You can work off campus and stay up to two years to work after your degree!

General requirements

  • Diploma: Will accept both IB and US diplomas. In fact, some will let you select which you are reviewed with. This could work to your advantage. May also grant credit for AP!
  • Testing: Depends—may want SAT if not doing IB.
  • Language proficiency—Prefer TOEFL or ILETS
